Family Holiday & What To Do With the Kids

The cosmopolitan Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur makes an ideal destination for a fun family holiday. Blending an exotic setting with historic architecture and ultra-modern attractions, the city offers plenty for younger visitors to see and experience.

1) KidZania

If it’s raining, head to KidZania, a sprawling indoor entertainment centre packed with educational activities to keep both body and mind stimulated and inspired.

What is KidZania ?

KidZania Malaysia is designed to encourage learning through role-playing activities. Featuring over 90 professions working within a real economy, KidZania allows kids to transcend the boundaries of the grown up world to play their part in a community and also experience the tricks-of-the-trade of their dream careers.

Jobs in KidZania Malaysia reproduce scenarios that kids will face during adult life. This provides a way to positively influence how children relate and respond to an environment.  Role-playing also gives children an opportunity to make their own decisions & develop a culture of continuous learning & accountability.

KidZania Malaysia is planned from the ground up with safety in mind. From wheelchair accessibility to round the clock supervision by our security personnel, rest assured that your child will be in good hands. You  can also feel safer knowing that we have certified pediatric first-aid staff on duty at all times for emergencies.

2) Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Whether you are a family with small kids, teens , a group of friends or just a couple looking for a day out, there’s something for everyone here. While some of the rides in the dry park might seem tame to the more adventurous, there are a few rides in the extreme park. My favourite has always been the wet park. There is an artificial beech, a wave pool, swimming pools, slides for all age groups and a river to float along in. You can easily spend an entire day in the wet park. So, if you want to have a go at everything, it might be worth going back another day. Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten your swim suit or beech equipment- shops in the park sell everything you’ll need. Try and avoid public and school holidays.

3) Berjaya Times Square

The gigantic indoor theme park, measuring 133,000 square feet, offers thrilling rides and activities for your family and friends. Berjaya Times Square Theme Park is located at level  5 & 7, Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia’s largest inner-city shopping-cum leisure mall.

Built by the fictitious mad scientist Professor Cosmo and his clumsy robot assistant, Ooort, you will find yourself transported to another galaxy far, far away as you explore 133,000 square feet of un and exhilaration.

Galaxy Station, specifically targeted at adults and teenagers, offers 6 rides for thrill-seekers especially with its heart-stopping roller coaster, Supersonic Odyssey, while Fantasy Garden makes great wholesome family bonding session, thanks to the 8 fun rides amidst the beautiful scenery and colourful Garden Avenue.

So come along and enjoy hours of pure, solid fun with your family and friends at Berjaya Times Square Theme Park.

4) Petrosians Discovery Center 5) Petronas Towers

Suria KLCC Mall is a wonderful place for kids as there’s a place called Petrosains Discovery Center, on the top floor (4th floor) of the mall. Petrosains Discovery Center is owned by the same company that owns the famous Petronas Tower, and is a place where kids can learn all about the science of petroleum using all five senses. Now, as an adult, this might sound like it’s quite boring but the Petrosains Center have done it in such a way that the whole place is fun. There’s more than 150 exhibits, with a ton of interactive things for kids to play with (while learning at the same time), and even cool displays about dinosaurs and space. There are rides and dioramas and, even a great shop, where you can buy toys and games based on science and petroleum. The Petrosains Discovery Center will take at least a couple of hours to look around – then head out into the mall to eat at one of the many kid-friendly restaurants.

5) Petronas Towers

Another great place to take kids is the Petronas Towers, which used to be the world’s tallest building. They’re located at Suria KLCC Mall so you can conveivably visit the Petrosains Discovery Center and then go up the Petronas Towers afterwards. Tickets are free to go up the Petronas Towers, you just have to get them at the Petronas Towers desk in the basement of Suria KLCC Mall. They are free, but it’s first come first served, so get there early as they’re gone very fast. You can also only order tickets for the same day. Kids love going up the Petronas Towers, although you can only go to the sky bridge, which is half-way up the view is still spectacular. Afterwards, visit the park right outside the mall – there’s a man-made lake, rides for the kids and some really pretty gardens.
